In a recent blog titled “A New Form of Slavery: Cyber Slavery in Southeast Asia” published by the Human Rights Research Center, the author Esther Annorzie points out that “cyber slavery is a growing trend in Southeast Asia especially in Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, and the Philippines.” Many scam centers in Southeast Asia are based on modern day slavery operations, and many human rights violations are abundant. The slave victims are kidnapped, abused, and forced to engage in widespread cyber scams.

The report underlines that the fight for an equal and habitable world has to be a fight against a system that rewards extraction and depletion of all resources and requires infinitely growing consumption devouring the Earth's life-support system; a system designed to increase inequality and sustain the exploitation of almost all to serve the greed of a few!
